OUR ORGANIC VINEYARDS
Federico Perdisa follows in the vineyard the path taken by the founder Luigi, from whom he inherited the passion for the vine and for the protection of the environment. He maintains a 360° approach, which involves the use of natural and innovative phytosanitary products based on clay, volcanic rocks and diatoms to replace copper. For the utmost respect for nature, he uses biodegradable oils and greases for agricultural machinery. Much more than what is required by the organic certification, official from the 2019 harvest. To control cochineal and other harmful insects in the vineyards, antagonistic insects are used in collaboration with the Regional Health Service and the Astra research laboratory in Tebano. Weeds are eliminated through frequent mechanical tillage of the soil and all the main operations in the vineyards are carried out manually, starting from winter pruning and up to harvesting. The vineyards are planted at high density, 5500 vines per hectare, and occupy a surface area of 15.50 hectares with espalier training and spurred cordon pruning according to the Simonit and Sirch method.
