Description

Le Armi is a wine produced by carefully collecting and selecting Sangiovese grapes by hand.

The bunches are thinned and reduced to size in mid and late September.

The grapes come exclusively from the best vineyards of the estate, under organic certification.

A wine of great structure and complexity suitable for expressing its best qualities after a long maturation in the bottle.

Vinification method

Sangiovese grapes are vinified at controlled temperature inside stainless steel tanks with controlled temperature maceration techniques.

Subsequently, a post-fermentative maceration is carried out on the skins.

Finally it is transferred to 500 liter oak barrels for an aging between 24 and 30 months.

Characteristics Land and Vineyard

Our Sangiovese vineyards were planted in 2005 and 2006 on an area of approximately 5 hectares.

The soils are medium-textured, mainly clayey with sand and silt.

The grapes come from the Poggio and Quercia farm in the hills of San Pietro di Ozzano in the Doc Colli d ’Imola area in the province of Bologna at an altitude that varies between 95 and 170 meters above sea level.

The orientation of the rows varies according to the plots with a north-south prevalence.

The favorable microclimate, characterized by a high day-night temperature range even in summer, allows us to obtain high quality grapes and full-bodied wines characterized by high acidity and therefore freshness.

Gastronomic combinations

Sangiovese Riserva Le Armi is a wine that goes perfectly with tasty dishes.

It is excellent if tasted in combination with braised red meat or game dishes.
